Ticketing and Booking Information

Individual tickets
Ticket Sales
Tickets are available to purchase from the box office at the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts which is open between 10 am – 4pm and then again one hour before the evening performance.
Online booking is available all day and every day.
Masterclasses
Entry to observe masterclasses is free for festival ticket holders however we recommend you come early to secure a seat.
Seating Preferences
Our main venues for the festival are the Nelson Centre of Musical Arts and Nelson Cathedral. You can view seating plans on our website. All concerts, except Antipodes Quartet and the Family Concert have reserved seating, where you can select your preferred seat.
Nelson Cathedral has seats where sight lines are restricted and these seats are clearly marked on our plans. Whilst ‘Restricted Vision’ seats still enjoy good acoustics, we cannot guarantee you will have a clear view of the stage. These seats are sold at much reduced rates. Doors open 30 minutes before the concert time.
Door Sales
As we expect a number of our concerts will sell out, we highly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment. Door sales (if available) open 60 minutes before the advertised concert time.
Student Discounted Prices
We offer a last-minute student rush ticket at $20 subject to seating availability. Please turn up 30 minutes prior to the concert to check availability.
Exchanges and Refunds
We know that plans can sometimes change and therefore offer a no questions asked refund on all passes and individual tickets. Refunds exclude booking fees and credit card changes and will be processed by the NCMA ticketing team.
Mobile Phones, Recording Devices and Latecomers
Mobile phones or other similar devices are not permitted during the performances. The use of recording devices and cameras is strictly prohibited. Latecomers will only be allowed into the concert during a suitable break in the programme.
It gets hot!
It’s not just the music that gets hot in the festival! Although the NCMA is air conditioned, Nelson Cathedral is not, so we highly recommend light summer clothing in keeping with the holiday atmosphere that will permeate your visit here. It’s also cicada season and regardless of our best efforts, we’ve been unable to encourage them to settle down in the quieter movements. It’s all part of the Nelson summer experience!
Changes to Programme
We have done our best to lock in all aspects of the festival, but reserve the right to change programme works and order as well as artists, even though this is most unlikely.
Travel and Accommodation
You can find travel and accommodation information at www.nelsonnz.com. All concert venues are within easy walking distance of central Nelson.
