It’s become a tradition now that the Festival kicks off with a Gala Dinner at the fabulous Woollaston Estates. It’s a magical night with mouth watering cuisine from John Appelman, fine wine from Woollaston, set in an incredible venue and topped off with a surprise selection of music from the upcoming concerts in the Festival.
But what to wear? It’s the middle of summer and for the most part, light summer wear is recommended (as many of our beautiful venues are not air conditioned), but the cellars at Woollaston Estates are refreshingly cool, so we recommend formal wear for this evening. Manager Bob Bickerton is modelling himself on a famous film star, pity he hasn’t got the figure to suit!
