Of Basset Horns and Loud Hailers

Production for the 2015 Adam Chamber Music Festival is ramping up with all the wonderful and eccentric components that come together to make a great Festival. Some of the more interesting solutions for this Festival has been to find a basset horn for the Golijov – The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind, which calls on visiting clarinettist David Griffiths to play five different clarinets in the same piece in a gymnastic display of clarinetography! The Loud Hailer has been specified in one of the Cries pieces in the final concert. Then there’s the story of two six meter scaffold towers, but we’ll save that one up as a surprise.
